Alzheimer's Association plans pro-am golf dinner
Area families affected by Alzheimer’s disease will benefit from funds raised at the 10th Annual Alzheimer’s Pro-Am Golf Tournament July 14 - 15. Sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association - Quincy Area Branch, the event kicks off with a cocktail reception, dinner and auction at Mark Twain Casino on Thursday, July 14. The golf tournament gets underway Friday, July 15 at Spring Lake Country Club. The public is invited to attend the dinner and auction at the Casino, LaGrange Mo. The $20 meal price includes two drinks at the cocktail reception hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association preceding the dinner. The dinner, provided by corporate sponsor Mark Twain Casino, will include skewered grilled shrimp, a filet, salad, potato, vegetable, dinner roll and dessert. The cocktail reception begins at 6:00 p.m.; dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m. The Alzheimer's Association is auctioning off a Las Vegas Getaway Package for two, courtesy of Mark Twain Casino. The package includes airfare and three-night stay in one of the luxurious suites at Terrible’s Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, a free round of golf at the Primm Valley Resort, and a massage for two at Spa Primm Valley. The 10th Annual Pro-Am Golf Tournament gets underway on Friday, July 15th at Spring Lake Country Club with a golf ball drop at 10:45 a.m. (winner will receive $500 cash prize). The tournament is limited to the first 24 teams to register and begins with an 11:00 a.m. shotgun start. Entry fee is $800 per foursome. The fee includes the cocktail reception and dinner, 18 holes at Spring Lake Country Club with a PGA sanctioned professional, cart, lunch, refreshments, and prizes for everyone. After play, the top five pros compete in a shoot-out for additional prize money. “With the rapidly aging baby boomer population, the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease is one of the most important causes of our time,” said Breeana Hill, Pro-Am Chairperson and Development Specialist for the Alzheimer's Association, Quincy Area Branch. “It is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States and costs our country more than $170 billion a year.
